The subconscious of conscious- Part III

All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark. -Swami Vivekananda.

So very rightly said and yet we do the same. Swami Vivekananda was a visionary and hence could quote such a statement. He believed in his thought process and set an example for us. Continuing with our journey of re-union we dig further to our thought level. As we were saying whether we really think about what we do or not still remains unanswered. Do we think positive? We are taught since childhood that we should always think positive. Be good to others, which I see again as a way of thinking positive. But what we lack according to me is what exactly it is to think positive. And how do we do that? At what level? We need to introduce such process at at early age of a child to see the miracle happening in his/her later life. Well that could be an altogether different topic to talk about.

Consciously we can sure make an effort to be positive and remain happy. But then subconscious will never leave us if it is unattended. A nice way to know the functions of our two minds is to think of it as a garden. We as gardeners need to plant the seeds of thought in our subconscious mind. These seeds will grow into beautiful flowers in the form of your actions. Thought is action, thought is destiny. We are what we think the whole day.

If we give a mindful effort to the day's thought process, it will be seen that we keep on sowing seeds of thoughts that are so varied. Some thoughts are good, which is a perfect thought process, some are bad while some are wasted thoughts. We should be really aware of what kinds of thoughts our mind is processing. No need to say we are the creators of those. When our mind thinks correctly, when we understand the truth then these thoughts are deposited into our subconscious mind and lead to miraculous results.

To be able to see our thoughts we need to connect to our subconscious which is possible only when our conscious mind is not active. Sure they work together but at different time zones! To get connected with the subconscious we need to relax and slow down from our daily chores. We need to breathe fully and completely. Now some might say "don't we breathe fully, then how are we alive"? But if we see closely our breathing is not deep as it should be. Its halfway many a times. People who have done Yoga at some point of time will know that we are told to breathe deeply many a times during the session, and that's the effort to get connected to the subconscious. Close our conscious world to open for subconscious. The technique recommended by one of my great acquaintances, who is a super-human according to me, is to take five deep breathes after every three to four hours. Try this technique and see if you can at least get closer to your inner world.

Try being aware of what you think for today ...and lets see what is in-store next...

The subconscious of conscious- Part II

2009- a year of economic recession. It had a huge impact on the lives of many. Most of the people were badly hit by this turnaround. But for me and my family it was not just that but beyond. We had to deal with the major illness in the family. No...no..I am not telling my doleful story, but this situation led me to read more and more about the happenings around. Time was just not with us.

As one situation in life opens the door to another..good or bad, it happened the same in my case. To untangle the rope of events I kept reading to get the answers for my queries. Not only spiritual extracts but the science supporting the cause. This led me to know about the Big boss I mentioned earlier. Yes, and that plays very important role for sure. The reading made it clear that the thought process holds the key to results we see in life. Its all about being right-minded.

In our daily lives we are not even aware whether we are right-minded or not. We just don't have time for such fancy stuff. But let me assure one thing...being right-minded means a perfect way to success in life. Not only spiritual but materialistic too. We confess that we are not at all wrong-minded, but are we not really? Do we take a little time daily to analyze our mind at all? Do we sit quietly to see whether we are on right path or not? No, we don't. Things just happen around and we get caught up in that saying we are busy. Yes, being busy, earning money, exercising is all a part of life. But do we ever think about it?

We do things consciously, but what's important is we do it subconsciously. Meaning channelize the thought process and see the results. Conscious mind is like a shallow stream of water body which does not hold much beneath. But subconscious when active is unfathomable. It has all the riches, all the power to transform our lives, only if we know how? Some might think it as spiritual and absolutely not necessary when we are young. As we have the image that thinking about such things makes us old. Again a thought pattern we believe to be so. But on the contrary I would say sooner the better. If we are aware of our two minds and their working pattern better are the chances of transforming our life and enjoying it.

Lets see how in the coming post...

The subconscious of conscious!!

Life full of events. Some good, some bad, some great and some sad. All these events get hooked to our mind and cling to our behavior. Then gradually our behavior finds a base on such experiences and we transfer our nature, our behavioral pattern accordingly. Whether this is right or wrong holds no meaning at all. As we are aware our past haunts us and we use that past to make the future assumptions. While doing this we forget the present. I always had a question in my mind....where does past reside in our body, in our mind? Well that led me to read lot of books to the related topics and now I can see some answers. Going through such studies helped me join the dots and make a better picture.

We all are aware of two minds that we have. One being conscious and other being subconscious. Superficially conscious mind plays a leading role in our daily activities. It drives the whole show. It is THE boss. Conscious mind captures the on going events, situations, experiences and people around making them in a bundle of pattern which we call it as life. But then later reading got more concepts unfold. The conscious mind is not the boss of life but is just a driver driven by the BIG BOSS. Now who is this big boss?

I will be writing about everything that I have read and would love to share it with you. I would be extremely happy to learn from you all as well about your views about these concepts and experiences. Lets all share our opinions and find solutions for the concerns, happenings in our life.

I am on a trial to re-unite our conscious and subconscious mind which has left apart over the period of time. An effort to live a better life, the one WE desire!

B for Bears equals to B for buy!!

Recently I came across an article about Warren Buffet and his strategy for investing. It states that he buys at low and sells at high, and looks mainly for the value. So very true and lucrative. Isn't this the basic fundamental strategy while trading? Like Nicholas stated in this article about Buffet nodding yes to what he says even I do not understand the planning of many investors that go haywire. I really feel the need to see how can people invest in the stocks that compel them to suicide. What environment they are playing in? Is it not normal for a person to see whats profitable and can get bread to the table?

Of course when I write this it does not mean that I am extremely profitable in all the scrips that I deal with. I too have suffered my share of losses and dips, but I do make sure that I am not buying in bulk for the equities that are totally uncertain. Now its our study and judgement what companies are performing and place a stop loss. When I entered into trading like any other new-bee I was also going after blue-chip companies and the brand names. But they did not give me consistent returns all the time. Many of my scrips in software industry showed me the bearish results. Learning from this I started analysing small companies and putting my money on it and Ta-Da....got results. That made me think that it proved that brand names not always are the best, of course the more you invest the more you get /or lose. But ignoring the small and mid-cap performers is sure a mistake. No doubt certain big names have given me big money, but many small or unacknowledged identities also have given big profit and the main criteria for small companies is the amount required for investing is also small per scrip and thus they give large number in quantity. This has helped me in selling my scrips at various bullish environment, making profit in slots. This also holds beneficial when the share splits. We get double the quantity and increase the chances of selling in slots.....which sure attracts more benefit.

Coming back to Mr. Warren Buffet strategy we need to think or act in going for Canadian mining stocks for less than the value of their proven deposits (buy recommendation)...for taking a big step closer to becoming rich :D!

Aqua-phobia

Swimming always fascinated me since childhood and I always wanted to swim for sure. But unfortunately I just had no guts back then to enter the pool and throw myself off in water. I always had the fear of drowning like any other non-swimmer would have. My dad took lot of efforts to teach me swimming but in vain. Since then it remained a dream unrealized. Even if it remained a dream which could not come true my desire to do so was still alive. The instinct that one needs to do a certain thing was still there within me. Whenever I was at pool with my family and friends I saw myself floating on water happily, but entering in water and floating practically required a bit of nerve.

Last summer my husband compelled me to enter the pool and dragged me inside. He knew how much I loved it and yet feared it. I was at the highest decibel of my voice shouting for help and he was the one dragging me all the more down in it. I had all emotions that might kill a person like anger, hatred, fury and what not, but he kept on pulling me till the point I felt extremely comfortable in water. That moment I lost the fear of water and started liking it. Then no looking back I kept on trying till date. Not that I am an expert swimmer now but sure can float on water of course with a noodle...initially I used all the available noodles on the pool leaving absolutely not a single one back for others. Now I can manage with one :) (others sure are happy now that they get their noodles back ;)).

Learning from this I sure want to encourage others if possible to go into ventures that they dream for. It sure is fun. Surpassing initial fear takes a bit of toll, but later the joy of conquering our own fears is unfathomable. Take one step at a time and it becomes easy. Just put your heart to it and your body will follow it is said and it happens that way!

Now I can float on water without help, one day I will be a good swimmer and my heart is already in process to make my dream come true :D!

Tips to stay Alive!!!!

Well now now..reading the title would make you think that I might talk about life and death, the ultimate truths of life. Well you certainly are wrong. My thoughts about tips to stay alive are really the tips, some suggestions to make our life more colourful, more alive. Yes, we are alive as we breath every single second of our life..though not consciously.

Living life just because we are not dead is not living at all according to me. As per my opinion living life to its full capacity in whatever we do is really living. Things we do during our entire day or life are many a times those that are needed to be done. Like working to get some money, and which is not wrong. Going to school because we should know certain things to be successful in future....even if we might not. Breathing just through nose and not being conscious whether our lungs are getting any fresh air or not...though they are the ones essential for we being alive.

The point here is, mundane activities are there for sure, but why not add some spice to them and make them like tasty dishes that make us look forward to enjoy.

My brain produced some ideas which I try doing so that I never feel bored or stale. You also can go ahead and try these things and can surely add some tips of yours to this list....like a give and take!

1) Breath consciously at least five breathes every couple of hours. This will help lungs to get the fresh energy and make us more active. This is one form of meditation which is easy to follow for those who are beginners for the concept of sitting at one place closing eyes..they feel like yogis...unnecessarily... :)
2) See and observe any colourful thing daily, may it be a beautiful painting, may it be nature around, may it be window shopping especially summer /spring clothing that displays fabulous colour range on the mannequins.
3) Listen to the mesmerizing tunes of music, any kind of music that soothes you down. Listen to the birds chirping at dawn. Listen to a water body making tingling sounds while flowing.
4) Appreciate at least one person every day, do it personally. Tell him/her how much he/she means to you. Convey how he/she is of help to you. See, its always give and take...give a single kind word to everyone and you will get tons of them back...your day is sure made!
5) Thank God heartily for your wonderful life, loving people around...and if by chance you have nasty people around even then thank God as he has send them as your final examination paper...result is on the way :)
6) Watch kids play, yours or others! See how kids work., how they handle things..and there is lot to learn.
7) Prepare delicious food for self and family. Cooking sure is one art of winning hearts. It is rightly said " the way to man's heart is through his stomach". Wont you be happy when served with mouth watering delicacies?
8) Read something everyday. Anything of your interest, could be a biography, a novel, newspaper, a report (well not medical report ;)) i meant a financial report or an economic report.
9) Take a stroll when weather permits, go biking, wander into nature...she loves you.
10) Note birthdays, anniversaries, all special days of your loved ones, family and friends..send them warm wishes..they would be happy to know you care for them...seeing happy smiles on their faces would multiply your joys.
11) Learn something new..there are lot many courses free of cost around us....don't you believe???? here is the list..learn-to-smile-everyday-when-you-get-up class, a course in pampering ourselves with something everyday, a short course in greeting people coming across, a class for taking a trill when you are happy, study guide available in the form of friends who provide you answers for your questions, learn new language free of cost from your friends around...well the list is endless.

...and so is the list of tips to be alive. I try to do these things everyday, at times I do feel bored, angry, irritated, but then I go back to this list and do whichever possible that very moment. It is human nature we might say to have such lousy feelings but we are wrong here. We are meant to be happy always and every single day of our lives. Its against nature to be not-happy. You can decide your day and your life....Only choice is yours!

Getting that extra hour....

"Early to rise and early to bed makes a man healthy wealthy and wise"...a popularly know phrase and so very on the tip of the tongue. But today when we see around its just not the case.

Today's world unlike earlier age, is so fast and so very full of unpredictable events, so lot to do in so less of time. Its very overwhelming that we need to take classes for time management now. How did our ancestors never did such classes? Because their lifestyle was different we would say. They never had to run to catch a train/bus to the office to be there on time. They had good time in the morning to have their breakfast and then go out to work.

When we are aware of these facts why not peep into our own lives and see whats happening? General lifestyle today speaks of long working hours, late night out, sleep ins and then rushing of to work with 'on-the-go' breakfast. Now where is the time management in here? My thoughts started wondering, what do all successful people do to stay on track and make more success than us. I was reading a book where I came across a reference to Anil Ambani by his trainer. Inspite of being such a busy person never miss his workout and much needed breakfast before starting his schedule. So how does he do that?????...He gets up EARLY! Then haunted, I started reading about all successful people and their routines. And one common thing I found was, they all get up early on weekdays and weekends as well.

That extra hour in the morning makes us feel so collected and gathered that we can plan a whole lot for life ahead. The vibes in the morning are so pure and un-contaminated. Brain is fresh from sound sleep and can work to the fullest. Taking healthy breakfast and working out early charges up our body to its full capacity. And that is how we stay on track the whole day. And every day counts to make a big success.

Now that's one success formula which we can surely implement in our lives. Can't we?
YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Music has no language barriers!!

Music, when this word comes to mind we are intended to think about different types music has, different patterns, different instruments world wide. Also what comes to mind is fusion. Music is beautifully blended in various manner, different ways. But what would we say when an artist so called foreigner to other world of music who plays it just flawlessly! Yes I am talking about the experience I had while attending one of the mesmerizing concerts yesterday.

I had an opportunity to hear to Pandit Ken Zuckerman the sarod maestro. This western name blended with pure indian classical stringed instrument sarod. Pandit Ken Zuckerman is a dedicated disciple of legendary sarod master Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. I was totally in trance while he was playing for almost three hours. Those three hours full of wonderful pieces and heavenly moments drenched me completely to the core. He was accompanied by amazing tabla by Anirban Roy Chowdhary.

Ragas played by him were Madhuvanti, Madhumalati, Bhop Maand, Gorakh Kalingra, and many more. My heart strings were pulled melodiously for the entire time during the concert and continues to do so till now....what a harmonious experience and so much to cherish. My heartfelt thanks to the artists and all those who made it possible to make such an event reach my ears!!

A book from Raddi

I was cleaning up the mess of old papers, old clips, old paper cuttings from the cupboard with my little helper. "what are these papers mom?" her query."Sweety, this is all raddi, I need to clean up the mess now". "Laddi???" (L=R) my daughter. "Yes dear, raddi is all the old papers, old books which we dont need"....my explanation. But this chat took me to the faraway land in my childhood where clearing off raddi was a bi-monthly affair and a task to be done with all the family members.

I remember my sister and myself would sit with our dad that day along with mom and clear off the old newspapers, books, magazines together. Then would start our paper
cutting activity. My sister and myself would have cuttings from paper like "Glow your face with cucumber paste" "Fashion world" "Tips for studying economics"...followed by cuttings for my mom "Mulancha aahar", "Khoklyavarchya gharguti upaay", "palakachi vegli bhaji" followed with the cuttings for my dad " dollar vs Rupee", "Kirloskar taken over by cummins" "ambani brothers". Then these cuttins would nicely go into one folder with the separators tagged my name, mom and dad. And the folder went into the cupboard never to be seen again untill next raddi clearing time. My mom was the only person who dug it occassionally to find out some new recipes or remedies..thats all...again into the cupboard.

Talking about raddi can never be complete without the books from raddi. Going with dad to sell raddi to raddiwala was a task looked forward to, as I got to buy a book
from there. One of my friends was also fond of reading and collecting books. Both of us would go to raddiwala and bargain for books. A book more than Rs. 5 was
extremely costly for us then. We would argue with him and say "Instead of buying this book from u we might as well go to new books store and get one there for Rs. 50.(??????) (which would of course never happen....buttt we proved our point that the book is costly and we wont buy. My friend finally exceeded the count of books with him to more than 300 and won the lifetime competition which we had tacitly agreed.

I have never understood till date the connection and relation between raddi shop and coconuts. Why do they have coconuts in every raddi shop...its always a puzzle for me and will remain.

I came into present when I heard my daughter holding one of my old books in hand and asking "Is this Laddi mom"?.....which of course was not....it was my favourite book "Oliver Twist" which I would never call raddi..but a CLASSIC...bought at Re.1. :)

Do u have any such Raddi or Classics??

Morning Vibes!

A sunrise, day break, may it be sunny, may it be foggy, may it be rainy or it be snowy. I always observe one thing when I go to drop my daughter to school. Whenever I am at the red light and all the cars passing by there are so much morning vibes in the air. I feel the vibes and the air filled with the people around.

I see different scenes like every person in the car. Some are talking on the cell, some are singing, some are listening to the radio, some are talking to each other, some are sipping coffee, some are managing with the kids. But there is one common thing in each ones case, and that is morning rush, morning chores, or morning fever. May be they are busy with the activities they need to do, but I think most of them are thinking about the day ahead. Will we be on time for office, ohhh this traffic, today's meeting, today's news, today's market, today's lunch and thoughts flow till today's dinner.

I like to observe these people and feel nice to see that each one is so busy and so occupied, I mean at least I feel so. The air is full of liveliness. Everybody getting ready nicely, dressing up decent, fresh faces and inviting fragrances. Ohh these mornings are so active, so energetic I love it.

Well I also need to get active and feel energetic...me off to gym..vrommm!!

My Tabla Riyaz!!

Today I had a good long practice session of playing tabla,a long due exercise. It was fun experiencing all different combinations of kaydas and taals. I always have and had a fear of remembering those and playing them in the same order and thus was not able to make it a complete piece while playing. But recently I have developed a pattern of saying those in tune and ta-daaa...i know them well.

Tabla gives a perfect percussion for a musical piece making music all the more rhythmic. Its makes music feet tapping and worth nodding. Of course not that other instruments are less valuable in melody. Today while practicing I was constantly thinking about Ustaad Zakir Hussain. How flawless his hands move on tabla giving melodious sounds and so many variations. We just could not see his hands at times when he plays fast. He is completely lost in taals, kayadas, relaas and make us drench in the rain of music. That sure is a divine experience. How much efforts are put into it, that's what I realize when I practice. Playing just one piece flawless makes me sweat and tired. Hands feel numb and carpal tunnel is under stress :))....but sure a worth when once we get the result we want.

So today I was determined to sit for longer time for my Riyaz and at least pay a little tribute to such living legends who prove themselves an inspiration. Hats off Ustaad! May you be immortal just like your never fading glory to the world of music!!

My words failed to say!!

My eyes closed, in a soft peaceful candle light, a wonderful soothing piece of music and room filled with heavenly aroma I was slowly slipping into a divine time. Relaxing all the muscles and tissues my body was about to undergo a complete massage, a complete rejuvenation. I surrendered myself to the beautiful experience releasing stress, pressures from my muscles, my tissues, my mind and my heart. My body was totally into manipulation of its own making itself free from the heaviness of the daily activities. I was giving away each and every red spot in my body making it filled with a golden light, making it feel healed, making it more and more strong.

The bath of aromatic lotions used for massage was so very mesmerizing that my body and mind are still stuck into the realm of fragrance. Every little particle of that aroma inhaled into my body was flowing freely inside making me more and more fresh, beautiful and invigorating. Every cell of mine was happy and functioning to the fullest now. I realised that my body and mind was restored and made full and complete. On completing the massage session every time I feel that our body really needs this pampering on regular basis. As we maintain the automobile and service it regularly , so should be done this as well.

I am so grateful to have given this gift on my birthday by my hubby. A so required gift certificate from this spa was a sure shot a heart winning gift :))....Each thought of mine is thanking him a ton times!!

Some lost moments!!

I always feel that everyone in life is happy when they meet old contacts or lost friends. It is indeed a pleasure to get along with the time and make new friends and relations, but then why do we lose the old contacts in first place? No... now please don't give me the barriers like no time, different life patterns, no same thoughts, no same goals....its the same like past right now, but yet we feel good about getting in touch with the old relations.

The reason for this excerpt is I got re-connected with one of my cousins recently. It was so good to know his whereabouts, his life and changes in his life and same was his reaction...happy to re-connect. That made me think this, why in first place we lost the touch? what was the reason for that...again no reasons that are mentioned above. Or its a law of nature or as said in the spiritual world that every relationship has a time bound, when the connection time of one to another is over we lose the touch and again after the completion of a specific cycle we meet again. As we don't generally separate due to fight or grudge re-meeting is always a pleasurable experience.

How would it be if people did not lose their contacts at all? We will have such a big circle of friends, relatives, contacts, and we would be so strong in our lives. As human being is so much community oriented and would be happy to be together. Getting busy with the routines is a fine excuse for not being in touch and we are the only ones later finding time slots to spend time with the lost contacts. We make new friends, relations only to find these as old acquaintances in future...Life is surely a circle, a cycle of events, a wheel that takes us forward and backwards. It would be great if we stayed in touch with all the people we meet since childhood and take them along and be with them till the end of life. Geographical distance is not to be considered here. We can be close inspite of physical distance and yet close to heart with one another, or be distance apart even if staying under one roof. The matter is how we want to see it and want things to happen!!But never it happens as it should.

Well I am happy to get back one of my lost contacts! How abt u?

My budding roses!!

I love nature (who doesn't?), but seriously I was a part of a nature club when back in school n college days. Our leader was a true nature lover. He use to tell us that he can understand the language of plants/trees/birds etc. And I have seen him talking to the trees/plants. He was very sensitive abt the nature and environment. I lost touch with him over the period of time and also lost the touch with the nature.
As projects he use to give us some seeds or small plants to plant them in pots/gardens and see the development. I use to deeply observe the growth everyday and every minute. I use to water the plant with the scene in front of me that the plant is practically drinking the water from roots. But as I said losing touch with nature has made me lose the understanding of the plant growth as well.

The reason of such a big story is one of my dear friends gave me a beautiful red rose plant for my birthday, and one more rose plant was given to me by my dear hubby on valentine day.Now it has become my duty (which i love of course) to keep those plants alive and nurture them. Fortunately I have been successful in keeping them alive and getting some new buds on them as well. Everyday I observe them and see what they need. But one thing that I noticed in both the plants is that the buds those blossomed after I got those had a faint colour on them as a full complete flower, and the flowers that were already there on the plant had dark respective colours. I do not know the reason for this change. Is it that it is not getting proper sunlight or water? As for water I am maintaining the soil texture as required, as for sunlight I cannot help much as due to this winter season its not possible to get sun everyday!

Does anybody have any idea why this might be happening!...I don't want to give up on my plants rather looking forward to plant a garden coming spring n summer!!
